Dear Support Team,

OS:windows server 2008 R2 64bit

I have installed Web-based Password Changer 1.6.166 Free Version, and binding a service account which have local admin right. Now I want to change the service account to other admin account, I have followed here and ran aspnet_setreg.exe as
aspnet_setreg.exe "-k:Software\NetWrix\Web-based password Changer" "-u:rdjason" "-p:1qaz@WSX"
and program responsed as below:


Please edit your configuration to contain the following:

userName="registry:HKLM\Software\NetWrix\Web-based Password Changer\ASPN
ET_SETREG,userName"
password="registry:HKLM\Software\NetWrix\Web-based Password Changer\ASPN
ET_SETREG,password"

The DACL on the registry key grants Full Control to System, Administrators, and
Creator Owner.

If you have encrypted credentials for the <identity/> configuration section, or
a connection
string for the <sessionState/> configuration section, ensure that the process id
entity has
Read access to the registry key. Furthermore, if you have configured IIS to acce
ss content on a
UNC share, the account used to access the share will need Read access to the reg
istry key.
Regedt32.exe may be used to view/modify registry key permissions.

You may rename the registry subkey and registry value in order to prevent discovery.


after that, I changed password of old service account and restart IIS, then got a server error

then I changed old service account's password to old one and web page work fine. I think aspnet_setreg.exe is not work, can anyone tell me how to do?

Jason,

This product was replaced by Password Manager some time ago (which also has a free version). So it will take some time to install and play around with this software to help with your query.
